The final stages of your pet’s life can be incredibly difficult.

Your pet can have the gift of euthanasia to avoid any suffering or pain.

As the pet owner, knowing when it is time to say good bye is not easy.

If you can assess your pet’s quality of life it may help in your decision making:

  • think of your pet’s top five things he loves to do. If he can no longer do these things, it may be time to discuss euthanasia.
  • keep at track of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ days. If the bad days are out numbering the good days, it may be time to discuss euthanasia.
  • pets in pain, even when on medication. The signs of pain can be varying and not always obvious as it normal survival tool for animals to try to stay looking strong and healthy. Look out for symptoms like, having trouble sleeping, difficulty getting up or lying down, withdrawing from the family or toileting difficulty.
